One Craigslist Post Reveals Just How Bad the Rent is in San Francisco

One San Francisco woman’s post on Craigslist’s “apartments for rent” section revealed just how far she is willing to go to keep her rent controlled apartment in Nob Hill while she goes away for two years to graduate school.
It goes to show just how precious property (even the kind you don’t really own) is in San Francisco, a city where even nuns who help the homeless struggle to pay ridiculously high rent.
Sadly, the post seems to have been taken down because, apparently, marrying someone on paper in a scheme to keep your rent controlled apartment is illegal, or something.

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.

Can NextShark keep a timeline thread here as updates come in? That would help keep context in one place.
