A clinical social worker fighting on the front lines against the COVID-19 outbreak is being called out online for her anti-Asian rant.
The woman, identified as Brenda Gooch (Johnson), works at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts, according to Resonate.
In her message to Vincent Su, which was shared online by Twitter user Borganized, Gooch spewed racial hate against the man, blaming him for the virus.
I don’t use Twitter for this often, but when I see healthcare providers demonstrate anti-Asian racism, it makes my blood boil. These are my fucking clinician colleagues that are supposed to be helping ppl. This woman should not be working. pic.twitter.com/CJTjrTzkf6

“Vincent Su you have no idea that I do work on the front lines,” Gooch said in her message. “I work at the hospital and a large medical office. And, you have no idea what Social Workers do. They deal with people who are desperate for any type of help.”
She then went on to attack Su for being Chinese and warned him to stay off social media.
“Btw, I looked at you [sic] FB picture and after seeing it, it explained a lot about your ignorance. Your last name is Chinese isn’t it. Don’t deny it,” Gooch said. “If I were you, I’d stay off FB because people in the United States are not too happy with people from China or Chinese descent.”
She also blamed Su for the outbreak and made fun of him for his appearance.
“We want to thank you for bringing this deadly disease to America,” Gooch said. “I look at your picture of a skinny, ignorant, creepy little man on a banana with his little woman.”
“Just go away and until you work where the disease is and until you do something to help people, just go away,” the woman added. “We don’t want to hear from you.”
It is unclear what her real name is, whether it is Brenda Gooch or Brenda Jacobson, as Borganized was able to dig up a similar profile with a different surname.
Potentially alias or maiden name for this or the other pic. pic.twitter.com/hpHW61lX8n

The tweet reached Baystate Health who said they have now passed the incident to the appropriate people.
Looks like this went through. Good work, ppl. People like her are supposed to be serving people who need help. Especially if she’s in a community health clinic. pic.twitter.com/5AS452ojtb
