Days after Ken Jeong dished a teaser for the rumored “Community” movie, Donald Glover says he learned that its script was already completed.
Positive update: Glover confirmed to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday that the script for the highly anticipated “Community” movie is done.
“I was told that the script – literally, I was texting today – I was told that the script was done,” Glover said. He also assured fans that he was all in on the project.
Dropping a teaser: Glover’s statement came just a few days after Jeong teased “cautious optimism” when he was asked by Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” about any truth to the “Community” movie rumor. He shared that the script was being worked on and that those involved in the project were “just getting everyone’s schedule to line.”

Catch up: The idea of a “Community” movie has floated around for years. In June 2014, Zack Van Amburg, who was an executive at Sony at the time, revealed they were planning to move forward with the project, but nothing immediately came out of it except for the cast indicating that it was happening.
It was not until 2022 when Sony announced the greenlight. Peacock, which has non-exclusive rights to the series’ six seasons, will be the film’s streaming home.
Fan reactions: “Community” fans celebrated Glover’s announcement, with one writing on X, “6 seasons and a movie is finally real.”
“Three new video games announced AND Community movie confirmed??? BIG DAY for nerds,” another proclaimed.
Meanwhile, one fan praised Glover in their post, detailing how he is releasing a new album, sharing the recent “Community” movie news and appearing alongside Maya Erskine in the upcoming Prime Series “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”
