Chinese Student’s Touching Candlelight Proposal Extinguished by Heartless Campus Security

A candlelight proposal of one male student at Zhengzhou Institute of Finance and Economics was all ready for the big moment — that is, until campus security showed up.

It certainly took time to make, just like the proposals involving a ton of condoms and pomelos.

Apparently, just as the giant heart of candles was all set, campus security arrived to extinguish everything before any romantic scene ensued.

No candle was left unscathed by the bitter fire extinguisher, and we can only feel for the poor guy.

It follows a more elaborate candlelight proposal that also ended up busted last month.

This looks like another sad night for one hopeful Romeo, but he might have actually been saved from a greater heartache. According to Shanghaiist, netizens speculated that the student’s beloved is behind the extinguishing.

Perhaps it’s less painful hearing from someone else.
