Watch: Chinese auntie brings rice cooker on high-speed rail train to serve fresh meal

By Bryan Ke
A Chinese auntie recently went viral on TikTok after she was filmed scooping freshly cooked rice out of a rice cooker she brought on a high-speed rail train in China.
Although how the woman was powering the rice cooker is unclear, one report noted that she could have been using a charging port in the train’s seat.
The video was re-shared to TikTok on Saturday, where it has received over 1.1 million views since it was first uploaded a few days ago.
What people are saying: Many TikTok users found the video amusing, with one user empathizing with the Chinese auntie, writing, “At 42 I’m no longer ashamed of this. I completely understand the necessity.”
Another user commented, “Never leave home without your rice cooker lol.”
One user even mentioned Uncle Roger, a character created by England-based Malaysian comedian Nigel Ng, writing, “Uncle Roger would be shocked and happy at the same time.”
Safety concerns: Citing a now-deleted report on Sohu, Must-Share News reported that the woman’s use of the seat’s charging bay with a rice cooker may have been illegal due to safety concerns, such as overloading a socket and causing a fire.
