‘Chainsaw Man’ fan creates petition demanding remake

A dissatisfied “Chainsaw Man” fan has created an online petition to demand a remake of the manga’s anime adaptation.
The Japanese fan started the petition on Change.org, according to Anime Senpai. Titled “Please remake the anime ‘Chainsaw Man’ with a new director,” the petition explains the ways in which the anime, which was made by Japanese animation studio MAPPA and premiered in October, falls short.
“In 700 words, they cited several reasons for the call, including an unfaithful interpretation of the manga by the current director, poor animation quality and forgettable music,” Comic Book Resources reported.
The fan took issue with Kikunosuke Toya, the voice actor of Denji, the show’s protagonist. They also reportedly think that the vision of the anime’s director, Ryū Nakayama, differed greatly from that of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s hit manga.
As of this writing, over 1,600 people have signed the petition.
