BTS’ label Big Hit Music has announced that group member J-Hope will start his mandatory military enlistment as an active-duty soldier.
The company issued a statement on Weverse on Saturday to announce that no events will be held on the day he enters the South Korean military. His start date has yet to be disclosed.

J-Hope will fulfill his required time with the military by enlisting in the army. Please note that there will be no official event on the day of his entry.

The entrance ceremony is a time to be observed by military personnel and their families only. To prevent any issues that might occur from crowding, fans are advised to refrain from visiting the site. Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts.

Following Big Hit’s statement, J-Hope, 29, took to social media and updated fans with a selfie, telling them not to worry.
“Have a great weekend, and please don’t worry too much!!!! I love you, ARMY,” he wrote in a post on Weverse.

In February, Big Hit released a statement confirming that J-Hope would be the next BTS member to enlist in the military.
He is the second member of BTS to enlist and serve following eldest member Jin, 30, who started training in December 2022.
Last month, J-Hope released “on the street,” a collaboration with his “idol” J. Cole. The track was a follow-up to his debut solo album, “Jack in the Box,” which was released in July 2022.
