Not even the most die-hard boba tea fanatic could have anticipated the arrival of a new craze from Singapore
The new snack, which takes the beloved beverage into an entirely new direction, is pretty much exactly what its name suggests: toasted sandwiches stuffed with gooey tapioca pearls.
Available at Benjamin Browns for 6.90 Singapore Dollars ($5), the sandwich/boba tea hybrid is drizzled with a variety of sweet sauces, such as Ovaltine, Crunchie, and Caramel Lotus for flavor.

Benjamin Browns became internet-famous a few years ago for its OTT (over the top) milkshakes. To complement the new snack, the cafe is also introducing new drinks, such as milo avocado coffee shake and dirty sakura matcha or chocolate.
A similar boba-filled toasted sandwich was spotted earlier in Taiwan, but it’s unclear whether the Singapore version took inspiration from it.
Benjamin Browns’ version of the delectable treat, which is reportedly part of the cafe’s “Overflowing series”, is available at the store’s branch in Forum The Shopping Mall in Orchard, Singapore.
