Police are searching for a man who was caught on camera keying the side of a $100,000 Aston Martin V8 Vantage in June.
On June 19, the owner of an Aston Martin V8 Vantage left his dashcam on record when he went into a local shopping plaza in the London borough of Hackney. His camera ended up catching a man vandalizing his car.
The camera footage shows a man walking back and forth in the parking lot while pushing a stroller before he takes a key out of his pocket and subtly drags it along the side of the Aston Martin, causing 9,000 pounds ($14,000) worth of damages.
The Metropolitan police spokesperson said:
“Police have released CCTV footage and a still of a man they want to trace in connection with the criminal damage of an Aston Martin car.
“Police were called on Friday, 19 June to reports of criminal damage to a car parked in a supermarket car park.”
While the video is unsettling, it shows why drivers might want to think about investing in dashcams.
