A young Chinese model got more than she bargained for when she visited a beauty clinic to get breast implants.
After the doctors at a Shenzhen beauty clinic diagnosed the model with small eyes and “small breast syndrome,” she set up a schedule to undergo a breast augmentation operation along with eyelid surgery, People’s Daily Online reports (via Daily Mail).
Under partial anesthesia, Ting Ting initially underwent with the surgery on her eyelids. Additional anesthesia was then required for her breast surgery. However, her pulse suddenly dropped during the operation. Her blood pressure also dropped immediately after. The doctors gave the patient adrenaline but she had already flatlined.
Ting Ting’s husband and family were outraged because they were advised of her death several hours after she had lost her heartbeat.
The clinic spokesman said that the surgery personnel who attended to Ting Ting during the procedure are fully registered and certified. He also claimed the model’s death had been caused by the use of anesthesia.
The clinic, he said, has taken full responsibility for Ting Ting’s death and is planning to offer compensation.
The health supervising authority in Nanshan District of Shenzhen is currently investigating the case.
