Who’s involved: The TV hosts filmed a segment with Yo-Yo Ma for their Showtime series “Desus and Mero” at Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
  • Yo-Yo Ma is a world-famous cellist who has been performing at a young age and has won countless awards for his musical achievements. 
  • “Desus and Mero” is a commentary show featuring celebrity guests to talk about pop culture, current events and politics. 
Interview highlights: Nice and Mero asked Ma to perform a compilation of random songs on the cello including Britney Spears’s “Toxic,” “The Thong Song” and “Ruff Ryders Anthem” by the late DMX. 
  • Ma also performed “The Song of the Birds” by Pablo Casals which is one of the cellist’s favorites. 
  • Ma showcases his comedic side in the interview by cracking jokes such as saying he “acts like he is 66” when he is only 65 or claiming that he wants to “hit the cello” as opposed to marijuana because playing the cello “takes him to a different mind space.”
