Watch the Awkward Moment When Steve Harvey Announces The Wrong Miss Universe

It was a blunder heard across the universe — the Miss Universe pageant that is. Steve Harvey, this year’s host for the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant announced the wrong winner on Sunday night.
The painfully awkward moment when the crown had to be removed from the head of one contestant and placed on another was seen worldwide giving audiences a mixed reaction of confusion, heartbreak and jubilation (depending which part of the world you’re in).
Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, in tears of joy, was initially crowned with the $30,000 blue diamond and topaz crown after the announcement of her being the winner of Miss Universe 2015.
That moment lasted about two minutes before the announcement was corrected and the award was transferred to the actual winner, Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach
Gutierrez was already blowing kisses and waving to her supporters when she was informed that it was actually the Philippines’ candidate who had won the crown. Steve Harvey apologetically informed the audience that he read the results wrong.
It was a painful sight watching Miss Colombia when she had to bend and allow Former Miss Universe Paulina Vega to remove the crown on live TV, watched by millions in the world.
While it was certainly a cringe-worthy scene for everyone else to endure, Gutierrez kept her poise and composure with a brave, smiling face as the $30,000 blue diamond and topaz crown was removed and transferred to Wurtzbach. Vega placed her hand on Gutierez’ shoulder while she removed the sash and flowers.
Wurtzbach was then crowned the new Ms. Universe and then gave the traditional victory lap. It is the third crown the Philippines has received from the said pageant overall.
