A “World Flag Portal Site” in Japan has reimagined the different participating countries in the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics as badass anime characters.
According to the people behind the “unofficial” project, they decided to “introduce the flags of the world and some information about them” in anticipation for the international multi-sport event.
The characters are designed using the countries’ flags incorporated into cool Japanese traditional clothes such as samurai, firefighter, monk and others.
While the project is not affiliated with the Government of Japan or the Olympics, the quality of work put into each design is very impressive.
The characters look so awesome that they are begging to be featured in an anime series of their own.
