White Rabbit, the iconic Chinese milk candy, is now an ice cream flavor.
Wanderlust Creamery has reportedly recreated the creamy goodness of everyone’s childhood favorite in their White Rabbit Candy ice cream.
The Los Angeles-based ice cream shop announced the sale of its latest offering on their social media accounts on Feb. 21.  According to the post, the product is the result of a collaboration with the website, Foodbeast.
In an earlier post, the Instagram account of the creamery shared that the flavor was created to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
“A while back, chatting with @reach_hard of @foodbeast about the nostalgic moments that inspire some of our flavors at Wanderlust Creamery, he suggested a White Rabbit candy flavor. We knew we had to save this Asian favorite flavor for Lunar New Year. Intensely milky and singular in flavor, it encapsulates childhood reminiscence for many Asian Americans. Savor this seasonal @foodbeast flavor through February in stores.”
While most netizens were excited about the White Rabbit Candy ice cream, some were irked that they removed the iconic rice paper wrapping that coats the candy, and even dubbed it as “annoying.”
In response, the creamery shared their reason for removing the paper:
While it was announced that the special flavor would be available for only nine days, demand was so high that the ice cream company decided to extend its availability through March.
Unfortunately for fans of the milky treat, White Rabbit Candy ice cream is currently sold out at all of Wanderlust Creamery’s locations as of Feb. 24.
Those who don’t want to miss out on this limited edition ice cream can check out Wanderlust Creamery’s social media accounts for updates as they are already working on getting the stores restocked.
