Netflix dropped its official trailer for the K-drama thriller “Hellbound” to give viewers a look into a new world of unearthly beings.
About the drama: The trailer for “Hellbound,” which is based on the webtoon of the same title, was released on Oct. 26.
  • The six-episode series was directed by Yeon Sang-ho, who also directed the 2016 action-horror film “Train to Busan.” “Hellbound” will feature South Korean stars such as Yoo Ah-in, Kim Hyun-joo, Park Jeong-min, Won Jin-ah and Yang Ik-june.
  • It is set in a world that has become a living hell for humans. Netflix’s trailer description posed the question, “Is it murder or divine judgment?”
  • The series is about unearthly beings who appear out of nowhere to kill condemned individuals,  which gives rise to religious organization “The New Truth,” which justifies the slaughter as being part of a divine will. However, lawyer Min Hye-jin challenges the organization and begins investigating. She joins others in fighting for the hellbound and helping humans take control of the world again.
  • In the trailer’s voiceover, the religious group’s leader Jung Jin-soo states, “We have forgotten about shame, remorse, repentance and redemption. God has found a way to directly show you what hell is like. He’s telling us to be more righteous. It’s the fear that will set people free from sin. I’d like to welcome you all to the new world.”
“Hellbound” will be released for streaming on Netflix on Nov. 19.
