A teenage boy was in tears as he struggled to walk away from a gang of nine bullies who assaulted him mercilessly in China.
The incident took place at the Xianghe Plaza in Shangdu, Inner Mongolia, on the afternoon of Dec. 9, according to local police.
In the video, shot by an onlooker, the boy, a middle school student, can be seen lying and screaming on the road as a pack of bullies repeatedly kicked him in the head and body.
The victim sustained bruises and wounds after the assault. His parents noticed the injuries and called the police.
Authorities rounded up nine suspects, who were also students, for questioning. They found that the bullies were seeking revenge for a friend who had an argument with the victim.
Following investigations, six were arrested under China’s public security administration law, The Paper reported.
The other three, all under 14 years of age, were released with an order of strict disciplinary education to their parents.
The victim has since received treatment at a local hospital.
