Basketball icon Shaquille O’Neal was left in awe after he was effortlessly lifted off the ground by UFC champion Weili Zhang during a chance encounter at an unnamed gym.
Incredible feat of strength: Zhang, who stands 5 feet, 4 inches and weighs 115 pounds, posted a couple of videos of her encounter with the towering NBA star on Instagram.
In the first clip, O’Neal is seen asking the strawweight powerhouse to demonstrate her skills. Initially hesitant, Zhang lightly punched O’Neal’s stomach, but the former basketball player urged her to put more power into it. In response, Zhang delivered a straight right hand to O’Neal’s body, leaving him momentarily breathless.
In the second video, Zhang wows onlookers by lifting the over 300-pound legend into the air. The impressive display of strength appears to leave O’Neal and the fans in attendance astonished by her physical prowess.
Zhang’s incredible strength: Zhang is currently ranked as the UFC’s No. 2 pound-for-pound fighter, just behind women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso. With a record of 24 wins, 3 losses in her MMA career, she has fought for UFC gold six times, securing victory in four of those bouts.
In 2022, she also stunned the combat sports community by hoisting former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who weighed around 293 pounds at the time, onto her shoulder with ease.

MMA dominance: Zhang’s recent victory over Amanda Lemos at UFC 292 showcased her dominance in the strawweight division. She set a new UFC record by landing 296 strikes during the bout, surpassing any previous performance by a female fighter. Zhang’s ability to outstrike her opponents was evident, as Lemos only managed to connect 29 times, resulting in a record-breaking striking differential in a female UFC bout.
