Members of K-pop girl group phenomenon TWICE are now allowed to date after their 3-year dating ban lapsed on Saturday.
TWICE producer Park Jin Young revealed during an appearance on Section TV that the popular group has an existing dating ban that will be lifted three years from their debut.

“[Their dating ban will be lifted] 3 years after their first broadcast. After 3 years, I’ll buy their boyfriends a meal if they bring them,” said Park.
Member Jihyo then joked that three years was too short and that five years seemed to be more appropriate, according to OneHallyu.

Park was also quoted as saying that he would buy their boyfriends dinner if they brought them once the ban has expired.
A year later, TWICE’s Jeongyeon and Sana would reference the said ban during an appearance on Radio Star, indicating that they now had two years left to start dating.
Since TWICE celebrated its third anniversary on October 20, it means the girls will now be able to date openly.

To mark their third year in show business, TWICE released a short anniversary video which serves as a teaser for their sixth mini album “YES or YES.”
Fans who are aware of the ban’s lifting have expressed their happiness for the girls on social media.
