One backpacker sparked outrage on a bus traveling from Bangkok to Sukhothai, Thailand, when she refused to remove her feet from a headrest next to another passenger in front of her.
Narong Thaopanya, 21, politely asked the female traveler, believed to be from France, to take her feet down.
The woman put her legs down for a few seconds, stared at Narong, but proceeded to put her feet back up again.
The army reservist recorded and took photos of her “arrogant behavior”, according to Daily Mail.
This woman’s face was beautiful but she had no manners,” Narong said. “The smell from her feet was filling the whole bus. It was hot and made me feel sick, because her feet were next to my head. I asked her many times to put her legs on the ground and she would not do it. She just kept them in the air. Somebody will have to use the seat and put their head where her dirty feet have been. Would she have done this in her own country? If think that she thought she could get do it because she is a woman. People should be more respectful when they are visitors to other people’s countries.
Earlier this week, a passenger on a flight from Ireland was pictured in a similar awkward situation, as she ate pistachios and threw the shells on the cabin floor, according to the Mirror.
The photo has gone viral, gathering thousands of views and comments, with netizens calling her “trash” and an “ignorant idiot”.

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.

Can NextShark keep a timeline thread here as updates come in? That would help keep context in one place.
