Tokyo-based French anime artistThomas Romain is back with some new illustrations by his two sons Ryunosuke, 11, and Itsuki, 8, whose artistic talents have gotten more impressive over the past few months.
Romain, who has worked on a number of popular series including “Space Dandy,” “Senki Zessho Symphogear,” “Basquash!,” and “Aria,” takes inspiration from his children’s artwork and reimagines them as anime characters in a collaborative project called “Father & Sons’ Design Workshop”.
According to their Patreon page, the concept is very easy, “First, my sons create an original character or creature design on their own. They are free to draw whatever they want. Then, I draw an illustration based on their ideas.”
Romain has promised to purchase new sketchbooks, watercolors and brushes as the project grows, and hopefully, with the help of Patreon supporters, send his two boys to the best art schools in the future.
The family is also looking to one day put the project together into an art book or create stories based on their drawings.
Check out these awe-inspiring new illustrations, which include a fire genie, giant robots and serpents, a swordsman who rides a hoverboard and more!
