Korean drama “The Glory” maintained its popularity as Netflix’s most-viewed television series for the second week in a row.
In its first week, season 1, part 2 of the revenge thriller was viewed a total of 123.59 million hours, beating out Netflix’s most popular releases “You” (64.06 million hours) and “Shadow and Bone” (50.4 million hours), according to the streaming company.
The Glory” also moved up to seventh on Netflix’s most popular non-English television series list.
The Korean drama, starring Song Hye-kyo as Moon Dong-eun and Lim Ji-yeon as Park Yeon-jin, follows Moon as she executes an elaborate plan to enact revenge on her high school bullies.
With the popularity of “The Glory,” the show has also faced controversy surrounding its director, Ahn Gil-ho. A member of an online community claiming to be Ahn’s high school schoolmate alleged the director had his own history of bullying. Although Ahn initially denied the allegations, he later issued an apology and addressed his actions via a lawyer.
