Baltimore man accused of hitting Asian American sisters with cement block ruled incompetent to stand trial
- Daryl Doles, who is accused of hitting two Korean American sisters with a cement block at a liquor store in West Baltimore, has been deemed incompetent to stand trial.
- Doles was indicted on 22 counts — including attempted murder and hate crime charges — for the May 2 rampage last year, in which he also allegedly attacked two other Asian-owned liquor stores.
- On Wednesday, a Baltimore City Circuit Court judge ruled Doles incompetent “based on the opinion of the evaluators at the Department of Health,” adding that he is “dangerous to himself and others.”
- Doles, who has been in jail since his arrest, will be committed to a mental health facility.
