Many people don’t know this, but despite our large and loyal following which we are so grateful for, NextShark is a small bootstrapped startup with no outside funding or loans. All that you see is built on the backs of warriors who sacrifice everything to give Asians around the world a louder voice.
Since the beginning of 2020, we’ve seen and reported on the terrible rise in COVID-related racism and anti-Asian hate crimes in our communities and the devastating struggle that many Asian and BIPOC-owned businesses faced because of the pandemic. We’ve also covered the incredible strength and achievements of Asian Americans pulling together to help one another, like NYC Chinatown bakery manager Patrick Mock, who has been delivering hundreds of free meals to elderly residents, the homeless, frontline and essential workers to help them get through this difficult time.
