South Korean star Hong Seok Chun has opened up about his close friend Sulli, revealing that the 25-year-old actress had posted several cries for help on her private Instagram account.
Sulli, whose real name is Choi Jin-ri, was found dead at her home on October 14. According to authorities, the case is under investigation as a possible suicide as there were no signs of foul play or forced entry.
Various local media outlets have linked her death to depression caused by cyberbullying. It was later revealed that Sulli had repeatedly asked her agency, SM Entertainment, to take strong measures against malicious online comments on social media and cyberbullying.

During a recent appearance on the TV program “Rumor Has It,” Hong shared that Sulli had a private Instagram account where she opened up to her closest friends.
Hong said that Sulli shared many posts about how she had been having a difficult time, up until last year. Her close friends reportedly tried to cheer her up and show their support.
“Many celebrities, especially idols, have social media accounts but they also have a private account. Just up until last year, Sulli uploaded many posts to her friends expressing how she’s having a hard time,” Hong was quoted as saying.
“Everyone was worried about her, so we tried to help her and embrace her more but she seemed to be doing a lot better recently.”
When Sulli refrained from posting her true feelings on Instagram since the beginning of 2019, everyone assumed she was getting better.
Hong, who has known Sulli for years, said that she seemed “brighter” earlier this year.
