A video of a high school student in India who was gifted a new phone by her parents for her birthday has gone viral on social media.
In the heartfelt video, the teen’s parents surprise her with an iPhone 12 for her 18th birthday. The video, which was uploaded on Instagram on Oct. 20, has since gone viral with over 7.4 million views.
According to the girl’s mother, Rj Mahek, her daughter secured the top position in her 12th grade science section. The teen also scored a whopping 680 out of 720 in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, which is an entrance exam for students pursuing pre-medical undergraduate degrees. She ranked 897th in India out of more than 180,000 students.
In the video, the 18-year-old girl sits in front of a laptop as her father approaches her with a small shopping bag behind his back. The teen, who had been using Mahek’s old phone for the last five years, opens the box enthusiastically shortly after realizing that she was given an iPhone 12.
“We decided to surprise our daughter on her 18th birthday. She never asked anything from us. Whenever we ask her what do you want and she says, ‘I have plenty of things. I have Everything.’ Bless to have her as a daughter,” Mahek captioned her post.
