American Tourist Goes on Feces-Throwing Rampage at Thai Airport After ‘Taking too Much Viagra’
By Ryan General
Security officers were forced to restrain a tourist who strolled around completely naked at an airport in Thailand after reportedly taking too much Viagra.
New Yorker Steve Cho, 27, caused a commotion at the departure hall of Phuket International Airport, destroying goods and screaming incoherently late evening on Thursday, reports .
At one point during his odd behavior, the 27-year-old Asian American began throwing his own feces at people. Six security guards and airport staff were eventually able to subdue the man before the airport’s tourist police arrested him.
“This was the scariest and most disgusting thing I ever saw at an airport,” a witness named Wannee Ming was quoted as saying. “I stayed away from the man in case he attacked anybody. The airport staff tried to make him calm down. They were talking to him but he ignored them. It was very bad. The airport did a good job to control him.”
Upon questioning, Cho revealed that the reason for his outburst was that he had “taken too many sex drugs.” He then apologized for his actions and agreed to pay the damages he had caused.
Phuket International Airport released a statement saying the officers were forced to arrest the man to “control the situation and to prevent any danger that might happen to other passengers.”
”The officers brought him to the walkway on the north side of the terminal to avoid other passengers and managed to calm him down at the Tourist Centre on the first floor,” the airport explained. “When he regained his composure he admitted that he took too many Viagra pills and lost consciousness.”
“He accepted responsibility to reimburse for any damages that he caused. His trip to Incheon was canceled and he was brought to Saku Police Station for further investigation. However, we would like to insist that the officers did not harm the man when arresting him and a strict code of conduct was followed.”
“All of the security officers are well trained, following international standards, and work alongside local police, tourist police, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the AOT, consuls, and embassies.’’
After Cho’s release, he was taken to a nearby hospital for medical checks and a psychiatric assessment.
