South Korean President Moon Jae-in delivered thoughtful gifts to the daughter of Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who just got married on Wednesday.
Moon has since expressed his intention to visit the Indonesian local market. This became a reality on Nov. 9 in a meeting with President Widodo, who also took him to shop at a mall and presented him a Batik, a traditional Indonesian wear.
Knowing that Widodo’s daughter, Kahiyang Ayu, just got married and is an avid K-Pop fan, Moon handed out a congratulatory video featuring SHINee’s Minho and an EXO CD signed by members.
Ayu reportedly attended SHINee’s concerts in the past and often expressed her love for K-Pop, allkpop noted. She is Widodo’s only daughter.
Accompanied by around 200 business leaders, Moon visited Indonesia as part of South Korea’s “New Southern Policy,” which aims to deepen the country’s ties with Southeast Asia, Reuters said. Talks were held at a state palace in Bogor, a city south of Jakarta.
According to The Straits Times, Moon oversaw the signing of agreements worth $1.9 billion, which cover projects in energy, infrastructure and other developmental initiatives. These include a $500 million commitment to help build Jakarta’s light rail transit (LRT) system.
