It follows the likes of Korean series “Squid Game,” “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” “Hellbound,” and “Silent Sea,” which have captivated the streaming platform’s viewers worldwide during the latter half of 2021.
“Single’s Inferno” is the first Korean reality show to make the list, though currently it has been bumped back down to the No. 13 spot, according to the streaming analytics company FlixPatrol. However, it tops Netflix’s most-watched list in South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.
The show follows around nine single men and women on a deserted island who are only permitted to leave once they find love. Its plot has been compared to the Western reality show “Love Island.” Netflix has released the episodes in batches of two each Saturday starting from its release on Dec. 18 until its season finale this upcoming weekend.
