A single father in Thailand has tugged on several netizens’ heartstrings after dressing up as a woman for a Mother’s Day event at his daughter’s school.
What happened: On Aug. 12, which is when Thailand celebrates Mother’s Day, Joe Lookphonbodee, 48, attended Ban Noen Kroi School’s special event in Kamphaeng Phet province as the mother of his adopted daughter, Cream. He wore a long-haired black wig and checkered dress.
Lookphonbodee teaches physical education and health education at his daughter’s school, according to Mothership. His students lovingly call him Teacher Joe or Mr. Pratya.
“When the school organizes Mother’s Day activities, I don’t want my child to have an inferiority complex,” he told Bangkok Biz News, as per Mothership. “Personally, I’m not ashamed because I love my child.”
