A Singaporean woman finally got the Harry Potter-themed wedding of her dreams after 20 years of waiting.
On Friday, Angeline Tan, 30, posted a TikTok video with scenes from the special event, which she threw with her now-husband Alvin Ng, 31, last year in December.
The 38-second clip shows several decorations related to “The Boy Who Lived,” from wire-framed glasses and wands to iron cages with owls and a giant book featuring the first page of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” Tan also included shots of a custom-made Mirror of Erised stage centerpiece.

“I did my waiting! 20 years of it!” Tan wrote in her TikTok post’s caption.
Tan told AsiaOne on Thursday that she and her husband spent around 90,000 Singaporean dollars to 100,000 Singaporean dollars (approximately $65,000 to $74,000) on their wedding ceremony, which was held at The St. Regis Singapore.
She also told the publication that Ng, who she had been with for five years prior to their wedding, “likes it [Harry Potter] reasonably enough but he’s not crazy about it.”
Much to her delight, he agreed to hosting a Harry Potter-themed wedding ceremony, helping her 20-year dream come true.
