Simu Liu, Mandarin speakers criticize Chinese spoken by Ethan Hawke’s ‘Moon Knight’ character

Actor Simu Liu criticized the Mandarin spoken in the latest episode of the Disney Plus Marvel show “Moon Knight.”
"Alright Arthur Harrow needs to fire his Mandarin teacher,” Liu tweeted.
In the show’s second episode, the character Arthur Harrow, played by actor Ethan Hawke, is seen talking with a disciple in Mandarin.
As he kicks a ball toward the woman, she tells him that he “will always be a loser.” Hawke’s character seemingly responds in jest, saying, “You are dead.”
Mandarin speakers found the exchange incomprehensible as the phrases were used out of context.
YouTuber Disney Dwayne claimed that Hawke’s dialogue was “like a direct Google translation” and mentioned that Marvel Studios and Disney could have put more care into translating the phrases.
Liu’s followers chimed in, with those who know Mandarin calling the exchange between Harrow and his disciple incomprehensible since phrases were used out of context.
