According to Metro, Showry is not trying to be sexy but is instead mocking the rise of South Korea’s muk-bang trend, or “gastronomic voyeurism,” wherein viewers tune in to watch and interact with a performer who is eating large quantities of food. One woman made headlines earlier this year for her reported $9,000-a-month income from her muk-bang shows.
