A family-owned kite shop in San Francisco’s Chinatown was recently terrorized by unidentified youths who also plowed down the storefront’s displays before fleeing.
Facebook user Robin Hong captured images of the aftermath of the incident, showing scattered items inside and outside the small store Chinatown Kite Shop.
“Parents. Control your damn kids before they get hurt,” Hong wrote. “A majority of these stores are owned by seniors that have NO CHOICE but to remain open.”
“These photos show the aftermath of a group of 4 teenagers that walked through and pushed/kicked over displays.” he added.
For Hong, the suspects committed “acts of Racially Motivated terror attacks” against the store owners.
He also noted that following the attack, the perpetrators proceeded to go around snatching people’s phones in the area.
“While typing this my dad yelled and told me that they are now going around snatching phones and robbing seniors….even pushing a 92 year old man to the ground,” he shared.
According to Hong, the store owners reported the incident to the local authorities. Shortly after, one of the phone snatchers believed to be part of the store attack was reportedly apprehended. No other details regarding the case has been made available as of this writing.
Situated right along Grant Avenue, the Chinatown Kite Shop has been in operation since 1969. Aside from a large selection of kites, the small store also sells souvenirs, Feng Shui items and many others.
