Canadian racer Samantha Tan recently thanked her team on Instagram as she capped off the 2021 season with six championship titles.
Incredible season: Tan, 23, shared the achievement on Monday when she listed the titles she won during the 2021 season, including  Overall GT Teams Champion, Overall GT Drivers Champion, GT4 Class Team Champion, GT4 Class Drivers Champion, GT Junior Cup and GT Ladies Cup, according to her post.
  • What a year, what a season. I’m definitely still trying to process all of this,” Tan wrote. “We had some ups and downs, but we pushed through against the odds and came out on top. This was our first endurance series ever but we had our fair share of successes: 8 consecutive pole positions, 4 wins, and 7 podiums.”
  • In addition to her team, Tan thanked BMW Motorsport, their sponsors, the Creventic team and the fans who supported them in their career.
  • I learned a lot this year and still have much more to go, but I know that I have the right people standing behind me,” Tan said in the last part of her post. “It makes me so proud to be able to share these incredible victories with my own team and I look forward to doing it all over again in 2022.”
  • Tan’s Driver Database page states that she won the 2021 24H GT Series powered by Hankook – GT4 class and 2021 6H Abu Dhabi – TG.
About Samantha Tan: Born to a Malaysian mother and Filipino father, the Canadian racer first entered the driving world at the age of 16 in March 2014, NextShark previously reported. She won the Rookie of the Year award that same year after placing fifth out of the 22 racers in the Canadian Touring Car Championship.
  • Although her parents wanted her to focus on her academics, Tan still managed to balance both her passion for racing and her studies in California. Her mother, who she views as a role model, helped herhe navigate racing and school.
  • I think I definitely inherited my mother’s tenacity and commitment to hard work,” Tan told NextShark in January. “Learning about her success as an immigrant inspired me to pursue my ambitions and helped me develop into the strong woman I am today.”
  • She also has a team called Samantha Tan Racing (ST Racing) that she founded in 2017.
