  • “He looked after me in loads of different ways, very much behind the scenes — not telling me that he was doing something for me, but making sure that it was done,” she said. “Although him being one of the executive producers means that he had a hand in casting me, so that was really crazy to comprehend."

  • She also praised the actor in an earlier interview with Metro, saying: “Keanu just has such an ordinariness about him – he’s really down to earth, he’s someone who is so chilled and lovely – just great to hang out with like he’s a family member.”

A new cast member of the upcoming “John Wick: Chapter 4” has spoken out to affirm Keanu Reeves’ reputation as one of Hollywood’s nicest people.

Japanese British pop superstar Rina Sawayama, who is set to make her feature acting debut in the highly anticipated action film, revealed in a recent Variety interview how the actor looked after her during filming.

Reeves was “amazing” and “so chill” while secretly ensuring she had a good experience on set, according to Sawayama.

“Keanu was amazing, and exactly what you think he’d be like, so chill,” she was quoted as saying. “But he looked after me in loads of different ways, very much behind the scenes — not telling me that he was doing something for me, but making sure that it was done. Although him being one of the executive producers means that he had a hand in casting me, so that was really crazy to comprehend.”

The singer had previously shed light on the impact Reeves’ presence had on her while filming in an earlier interview with Metro

“The process of getting into character was awesome though and having someone like Keanu really on your side, looking after you and making sure you’re alright felt great,” she said. “Keanu just has such an ordinariness about him – he’s really down to earth, he’s someone who is so chilled and lovely – just great to hang out with like he’s a family member.”

While Sawayama’s role in the film remains under wraps, her character can be briefly seen in the movie’s latest trailer.

“My favorite memory is looking over to him while we were both training in the same gym and being like, ‘F*ck!’ That was one of my faves – [training] was just so brutal! I loved sharing that moment with him,” Sawayama said. “We were both like, ‘This is horrible.’ But I can’t compare to what he’s done. He’s in the whole movie and I am in a portion of the movie. I don’t know how he does it. He does all his own stunts!”

Sawayama’s accounts add to the numerous anecdotes of positive experiences other people have shared regarding the actor.

Reeves recently bought each member of his stunt team on “John Wick: Chapter 4” a Rolex watch after filming.

“John Wick: Chapter 4,” which also stars Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada, is set to release on March 24, 2023.
