Visualized in a series of posts by her assistant Tina Truong, whom she attended the Sunday march with, the Fenty founder could be seen wearing mostly all black, with long locks, sunglasses and a hat to cover her identity. The only stand-out part of her outfit was the neon pink poster she was carrying that read “STOP ASIAN HATE” on one side and a neon green “HATE = RACISM AGAINST GOD” on the other.
Truong had a sign that read “BAD DAY?! #CALL IT A HATE CRIME,” in reference to the comment a law enforcement official made that many condemned for sympathizing with the Atlanta spa shooter in March. Eight victims were killed, six of which were Asian women.
Rihanna jumped right into the energy of the crowd, dancing with them alongside Truong.

At one point, a fellow protestor had asked for the pop star’s social media handle to tag her in a post, unable to recognize the famous celebrity. He could be seen looking at the singer in disbelief as she used a knuckle to select her profile.

Rihanna also shared her solidarity with the AAPI community in an Instagram post following the mass shootings.
“AAPI hate has been rampantly perpetuated and it’s disgusting!” she wrote“I’m heartbroken for the Asian community and my heart is with the loved ones of those we lost yesterday. The hate must stop.”
