Rich Chinese Man Goes Luxury Shopping, Brings Robots To Carry Everything For Him

One Chinese shopper, reportedly a wealthy business owner, in Guangzhou, China was turning heads at a mall recently because his purchases were being carried by an entourage of eight robot assistants.
His overt display of wealth has led some people to label him a “tuhao,” the derogatory name for a newly wealthy but still classless of mainland China. The robots carried his coat, water bottle, a towel, and the bags of jewelry he purchased.
In other news, as humanoid robots are becoming commonplace in Asia, they will now carry your stuff when you go shopping and even follow you around. What an amazing time we live in!

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.

Can NextShark keep a timeline thread here as updates come in? That would help keep context in one place.
