Thai Prostitute Falls to Death During ‘Very Strange, Extravagant Sex’ with Convicted British Rapist

A former British soldier was arrested over the death of a Thai prostitute who fell from a hotel balcony while they had “very strange” and “extravagant” sex.
Reece Vella, 25, was taken into custody on January 7, a day after Wannipa “Joy” Janhuathon, 26, fell naked to her death in Pattaya, Thailand.
“I was sitting in front of the entrance gate. I heard the sound of a crash. I walked to check and saw a shadow on the ground which turned out to be the body of a woman without clothes.”
“She was lying down and there was blood around her face. She was unconscious but still alive.”
Janhuathon sustained severe head injuries and multiple fractures after falling from the fifth floor of a hotel balcony. She was rushed to the hospital but died soon after.
Authorities found a pack of Kamagra oral jelly, a sex drug containing the similar active ingredient found in Viagra (sildenafil), next to her after plunging to the ground. They suspected that she must not have be alone.
Vella and Janhuathon agreed to a fee of 1,500 baht ($46) before lodging at the Cosy Beach View condominium block on the evening of January 6, Thai police said.
Narong Chantra, deputy head of investigations at Pattaya Police, described the incident:
“An arrest warrant was issued after evidence was presented to the court. The police case is that on the day of the incident Mr. Vella visited the bar and paid to take Miss Wannipa away.”
“Miss Wannipa and Mr Vella were having very strange, extravagant sex on the balcony until she fell down below and died.”
“Mr. Vella was in shock and knowing that he had overstayed his visa ran away and kept her mobile phone in his bag and left the room.”
Vella, who came from Worcester to “start a new life” in Thailand, was a former soldier who reportedly suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He had been overstaying his visa for 59 days.
According to The Mirror, he was also jailed for nearly five years after being convicted in 2012 of raping a teenage girl. He admitted to punching her twice in the face and hitting her with a bin lid.
In addition, he is allegedly wanted by U.K. police in connection with the supply of Class A drugs, reports said.
On January 8, Vella communicated briefly with his family, who are being asked for £12,000 ($16,260) so that he can be fed. He will spend 10 years in prison if convicted.
His brother, Andrayoss, said that he is not a “bad character” but only made “some mistakes.”
Andrayoss said:
“It was a horrible shock when we were told he had been arrested. It was an accident. We know it was. People said he ran away after the crime but we don’t know anything about that.”
“We feel really sorry for the girl and her family. What has happened is horrible.”
“What we are going through is horrible too. We face losing Reece. That’s something that could happen.”
