An avid Bruce Lee fan recently published an amazing video clip which shows the legendary martial artist in what appears to be his only competitive fight caught on camera.
In footage posted yesterday on YouTube, Lee is featured wearing black combat attire as he prepares against his opponent who was identified as one of his top students named Ted Wong.
The video’s description reads, “This is the only recording of Bruce Lee in a real MMA fight.”
“They are wearing protective gear because they were NOT ALLOWED to fight without them. Those were the state rules at the time. If not for those rules I can guarantee you that Bruce would have fought bare-knuckled. Footage is restored to 4K resolution. Enjoy.”
The battle, which had a huge crowd in attendance, showed Lee masterfully keeping his opponent at bay by employing some excellent footwork before peppering him with swift strikes to the body.
Noticeably calm, Lee’s moves are shown to be calculated and precise to the point that every hit has significant impact. Near the ending, he is shown planting a devastating two-punch combo to the chin to counter a right hook.
Spoilers alert: Lee won the match. The video has since gone viral since it was uploaded on Sunday, racking up almost 5.5 million views as of this writing. Watch the incredible video here:
