Asian Woman Punched and Kicked for Purse With $132 in Queens

A 44-year-old Asian woman was punched, kicked and dragged on the ground during a recent robbery in Queens, NY.
The incident, which was caught on security camera, occurred outside an apartment building on 35th Avenue and Linden Place in the neighborhood of Flushing on Feb. 23.

The surveillance video shows a masked suspect approaching the woman from behind before violently pinning her to the ground.
The suspect then punches, kicks and drags his victim around before running off with her purse, which contained $132 in cash.

The victim sustained minor injuries from the encounter.
New York has seen a rise in anti-Asian crimes in the past several weeks. However, this latest incident is not being investigated as a hate crime since the woman was supposedly not targeted because of her race.

The suspect has been described as a male who wore gloves, a hoodie, sweatpants and sneakers.
