A 38-year-old Japanese man was arrested after he purposefully cut the brakes of a car owned by woman he truly likes so that he could “gain her trust” when he comes gallantly to help her in times of need.
Police in Gobō, Wakayama Prefecture said that the incident took place at 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 16 when the 31-year-old woman got into her car to go to work, but she was not able to stop her vehicle and eventually bumped into a brick wall, according to Sankei News as translated by SoraNews24.
The woman soon realized that her brakes were cut, and she then immediately notified the police of what happened.
It was later revealed through the surveillance footage that Takuya Kawamura, her 38-year-old co-worker, was the one responsible for her severed brakes. After his arrest, the man admitted that the reason behind the crime was so he can be seen by the woman as a gallant man.
“I wanted to gain her trust,” he said, further explaining his plans on how he would come in like a knight in shining armor to save her from the accident.
Kawamura certainly managed to get the attention of the woman he likes, and as an added bonus, he also gets a quick trip to prison — similar to what happened to a man from Fukuoka, Japan, when he smashed through his floor to break a woman’s TV.
