BREAKING: Man Who Told Entrepreneur Sophia Chang to ‘Go Back to Wuhan’ FIRED from Job at Prudential
By Khier Casino
The man identified as James Hilbrant who worked at Prudential Financial and told Korean American entrepreneur Sophia Chang to “go back to Wuhan” while out having lunch with her sister has been let go by the company.
Social media users have been demanding action against the man after Chang posted the video, which was recorded at Bluewater Grill in Newport Beach, California, on her Instagram account.
Hilbrant was heading to the bathroom and making direct eye contact with Chang when he said, “Go back to Wuhan.” Chang waited for him to come back from the bathroom before stopping him to ask why he said that. Hilbrant replied, “I don’t speak Chinese, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Prudential issued a statement to NextShark on Tuesday and said it has cut ties with Hilbrant, of Orange County, California, following an investigation.
“After thoroughly investigating the incident in Newport Beach, we have made the decision to end our relationship with the financial representative involved,” it stated.
