Pornhub Reveals the Kind of Porn North Koreans Like to Watch

Getting caught viewing or distributing porn in North Korea is a crime punishable by a trip to a labor camp.

But despite the harsh sentence, pornography has continued to thrive in the country in recent years, with a significant part of it being produced outside the country.

In fact, recently, North Koreans have been found to be accessing porn online too, as reported by popular porn site Pornhub. In the past two years, the site has reportedly received “a few thousand visits” from North Koreans, according to Inverse.

PornHub Insights even revealed what the North Koreans’ most common searched-for terms were in 2016. It turns out, they are more keen on choosing videos based on the performers’ nationalities, with a high preference to Chinese and Mongolian porn stars.

Curiously, the third most popular search term on the site was “Japanese game show,” which apparently refers to popular adult-themed TV shows in Japan.

The other interests were revealed to be videos featuring porn stars from South Korea and Indonesia, along with Japanese sensual massages.

The only non-Asian related searches were the terms “Swedish,” “hairy creampie” and “public humiliation.” Interestingly, the term “lesbian”, a widely popular search term globally, is not popular in North Korea.

What is also found to be unique to North Korean visitors is how they specify the nationality in their category choice, whereas others would simply choose “Asian”.

According to Pornhub, North Koreans’ preference to search for performers from neighboring countries reflects a common behavior of most porn viewers who tend to look for porn featuring their compatriots. Since there aren’t really any North Korean porn videos available online, they are most likely looking for the most familiar.

The report also revealed that porn viewers in North Korea mainly uses a Windows desktop when accessing the site.

When using mobile phones, North Koreans mostly use Apple devices than Android.
