Looks like Tencent CEO Ma Huateng, also known as Pony Ma, is aiming to take the throne from Alibaba’s Jack Ma as the most badass tech entrepreneur by dressing up in hip-hop attire and performing a cheesy ballad on stage.
Ma, the founder of the most valuable tech company in China, surpassing Facebook with an estimated wealth of $43.1 billion, wore the outfit during a company meeting in Beijing last week, according to Shanghaiist.
The eye-catching outfit clearly wasn’t enough to entertain his colleagues; Ma had to perform a rather cheesy ballad on stage to seal the deal. Accompanied by other people, he sang the Chinese song 至少还有你” or “At Least I Still Have You” by Sandy Lam.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time that Ma came out in front of his colleagues dressed as a rapper. At the company’s Christmas party in Shenzhen in December, he wore a similar costume, but he performed a different song called “Mr. Almost” by Taiwanese rapper MC HotDog.
Jack Ma, on the other hand, killed it with his Michael Jackson impersonation last year. He even had a duet with famous Hong Kong singer Faye Wong!
Fans couldn’t help but wonder if the two CEOs will ever have a friendly karaoke competition in the future. Share your thoughts below if you want to see a Ma vs. Ma sing-off.
