Police officials have reportedly asked prosecutors to press charges against BTS’ main vocalist Jung-kook over a car crash accident happened in October.
Citing police officials on Tuesday, authorities advised prosecutors to seek an indictment on charges of violating Road Traffic Act and related laws against the singer, whose full name is Jeon Jung-kook, according to Yonhap via AsiaOne.
The 22-year-old member of the hit South Korean pop group BTS was caught in a car accident in October where the singer crashed into a taxi in Seoul, South Korea. Both the singer and the taxi driver sustained minor injuries in the incident.
“Right after the accident, Jungkook admitted that he had violated a traffic law,” BTS’ agency, Big Hit Entertainment, said in a statement at the time. “We smoothly reached an agreement with the victim. We once again apologize to the victim and fans for causing concern.”
However, recent police reports allege there was “serious negligence involved in the accident.” Big Hit Entertainment has yet to release any official statement.
