A kindhearted passenger was caught on camera giving their umbrella to a traffic officer in China because he was soaking wet from the rain.
The video of the bus passenger was filmed by a dashcam in the city of Kunming in Yunnan Province on June 6 and posted online by Yangcheng Evening News on Douyin on June 10. In the video, an officer can be seen directing traffic without an umbrella on a rainy day when a bus passes by.
Seeing that the officer is soaking wet, the passenger gives their umbrella to him by throwing it out of the window of the moving bus. The officer waves at the passenger, picks up the umbrella from the street and immediately uses it.
The heartwarming moment was also shared on the subreddit r/MadeMeSmile on Thursday, where it received more than 91,200 upvotes in just one day.

This recent inspiring moment in Kunming was not the only documented incident in China where someone gave their umbrella to a police officer in the middle of traffic.
In 2019, an SUV driver was caught on camera in Weifang, a city in Shandong Province, throwing his umbrella at an officer who was soaking wet while directing traffic in the rain. The officer later tracked down the driver to thank him and return his umbrella.
On June 2, 2020, a sedan driver was filmed dropping an umbrella for an officer while crossing an intersection in Jiujiang City in Jiangxi Province.
