Panda Express Unveils Mexican-Chinese Mashup With Orange Chicken Burrito
By Khier Casino
Panda Express has put a Mexican twist on its orange chicken by wrapping the menu item in a burrito.
The outer shell is made entirely of a scallion pancake, which can be filled with a base (chow mein noodles, fried rice, white rice, brown rice), sauces and veggies like pickled cucumbers or crispy shallots.
Besides the crispy orange chicken, customers can also choose from other options such as honey walnut shrimp, kung pao chicken or Beijing beef.
The orange chicken burrito was first available exclusively at the Chinese restaurant chain’s Innovation Kitchen in Pasadena, California, but is now being sold at locations in Hacienda Heights, Monterey Park, and Westwood, according to Foodbeast.
If you are not a fan of burritos, the Panda Express + Tea Bar also offers customizable salads, which isn’t offered at other Panda Express locations.

The new Panda Express burrito is only offered at branches on the West Coast, but here’s to hoping they plan on taking it nationwide soon.
The fast-food chain also made history by introducing the “chork,” a pair of chopsticks and fork combined into one plastic utensil, during the same time it finally added General Tso’s chicken to its menu in 2016.
