With the end of the swashbuckling exploits of Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew in sight, “One Piece” author Eiichiro Oda announced in a tweet that the manga series will be going on a month-long break ahead of its grand finale.
It is a truly strange time for manga fans, with the month-long hiatus of one of the most prolific series of all time following announcements that two of the longest manga hiatuses — “Hunter x Hunter” and “Berserk” — are coming to an end.
Luckily for fans, this announcement is not a sign that the “One Piece” properties are coming to a halt, as there is both an upcoming movie based on the series and a Netflix live-action adaptation in the works.
While the hiatus runs its course, the “One Piece” anime adaptation is available to stream on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
