Olivia Rodrigo appeared at the White House press briefing to help promote COVID-19 vaccinations to younger people on July 14.
Instagram interaction: President Joe Biden’s administration will work with influencers, celebrities and teenage ambassadors in an effort to reach out to the younger generation, reported NBC News
  • Biden shared a picture of himself on the POTUS Instagram account, calling for help in encouraging young people to get vaccinated.
  • Rodrigo commented on the post, saying, “I’m in! See you tomorrow at the White House.” 
  • The presidential account replied to her comment with, “You bet!”

Vaccination videos: The young star gave a short speech at the White House press briefing and will be recording videos to spread the message, according to The Washington Post.
  • “I am beyond honored and humbled to be here today to help spread the message about the importance of youth vaccination,” she said. 
  • Rodrigo stated in an Instagram video shared by POTUS that getting the vaccine was about protecting yourself, friends and family.
Reactions: Twitter users responded to Bloomberg White House reporter Jennifer Epstein’s post commending Rodrigo for participating in the campaign.
