“This guy robbed my grandmother of her jewelry in broad daylight in Oakland (Santa Rita St by 40th & Rosedale Ave) and had his daughter helping him! As you can tell from the video this is definitely not their (first) time doing this. **we are waiting for @oaklandpoliceca to come make a police report* Hope he gets caught! If anyone recognize(s) this man, the girl or his car (white Dodge Charger RT – License plate look like EJP**54 or BJPO154) let us know… Please SHARE! #JusticeForGrandmaSaephan,” wrote Instagram user @traceylais.
In the clip, a man in a white Dodge Charger stopped near the victim who was standing just outside her home.
After stepping out of his car with a young girl, the man walked up to the woman carrying what appears to be jewelry. According to the victim’s granddaughter, the thieves took off with her grandmother’s jewelry after pretending to compare it with the jewelry they had brought as a replacement.
As the man and girl drove off with the stolen jewelry, the elderly woman can be heard saying, “No, No!”
The family filed a report with the Oakland Police and shared the video in an effort to identify and locate the suspects.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s office is reportedly monitoring the investigation.
